UpSens is now seeking an experienced HW and firmware designer to join its internal technical team. He/she will plan design and development activities, design electronic boards, define the products’ algorithms, etc… (See the Responsibilities section below).
UpSens is looking for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, at least 3 years in analog and digital hardware design, and firmware development; basic knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits, programming languages for micro-controllers, EMC issues, etc… (See the Skills section below).
The ideal candidate is eager to learn all facets of the product in-depth, from conception to production, beyond the purely electronic aspects. He/she has an aptitude to work by goals; has working knowledge of English; can work both independently and as part of a team; is skilled in project management and management of small teams; is willing to learn and to help improve people’s quality of life.

Responsibilities:
- Planning design and development activities;
- Designing electronic boards (schematic, debugging, Gerber creation and BOM) and coordination with possible external companies or test laboratories;
- Defining product’s algorithms;
- Creating source codes on microcontrollers and debugging (firmware in C/C++, use of ARM and 8-bit processors);
- Code optimization for resource-saving and management of data from multiple devices;
- Coordinating the prototyping and carrying out the corresponding verification and validation tests;
- Monitoring the industrialization;
- Interacting with customers about the technical part of the projects.
Key skills:
- University degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification;
- At least 3 years of work experience in analog and digital hardware design, firmware development;
- Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits, programming languages for microcontrollers, EMC issues;
- Willingness to learn all the facets of the product, from conception to production, beyond purely electronic aspects;
- Ability to work by goals;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Project management and small team management;
- Working knowledge of English (knowledge of Italian is a plus).
